POONCH, May 3: Saruti village in Balakote block of Mendhar Sub Division is without PHE water supply for the last more than 15 days.
The villagers alleged that drought like situation has been emerged in entire Mendhar sub division and due to breakage of PHE pipes and failure of local pumping station, the people of the area are suffering for want of drinking water during these hot summer days.
They held protest against the PHE authorities at Mendhar town and submitted a memorandum to SDM, Dr Tanveer Ahmed Khan. The SDM summoned the AEE PHE Mendhar and directed him to ensure water supply to the village within two days.
