JAMMU, Nov 20: The memorial of legendary Ghazal singer Vijay Malla was installed at Sharda Radio FM 90.4 at a simple but impressive function here today by the artists and art loving people of the State.
The initiative in this regard was taken by Tsewang Dorje a young artist from Ladakh, a great admirer of Mr Malla who in a short span of life touched heights in the world of music and became heartthrob of millions of music lovers.
The function was presided over by president Pir Panchal Ramesh Hangloo who reiterated that Radio Sharda is committed to renaissance of art and culture. He said the contributions of Mr Malla in this regard would be remembered forever.
The function was attended by a galaxy of artists and scholars. They included J L Koul, R L Jawahar, M L Pandita, A K Naz, Kanya Lal Koul, J K Raina and M M Wazir.
The scholars demanded that Cultural Academy should construct a memorial in honour of legendry Ghazal singer.
