TANGHDAR (KARNAH), Sept 19: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who was on a day’s visit to this border area, laid the foundation of several developmental projects valuing around Rs. 68 crore here today.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation of 15 kilometer long Tanghdar to Gabra road via Hajitara which would be constructed in two years. The road project would cost Rs. 15 crore and work on it has already been started.
Mehbooba Mufti also laid the foundation of Dhani-Taad road. The 9.5 kilometer road would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 13.50 crore and this too would be completed within a period of two years.
The Chief Minister also kick started the work on developing cluster model villages at Gabra, Hajitara and Taad. The cumulative cost of the project would be Rs. 39 crore and it would involve an integrated approach to develop basic amenities of connectivity, power supply, clean drinking water, health facilities etc. Rs. five crore have been earmarked for developing educational institutions in these villages which would be equipped with modern teaching and learning tools.
Mehbooba Mufti directed the officers to complete the works within schedule so that there won’t be any escalation of cost or time.
Minister for Rural Development & Law, Abdul Haq Khan; Minister for Public Works, Naeem Akhtar; Member, Rajya Sabha, Fayaz Ahmad Mir; legislators, Raja Manzoor and Farooq Mirchal; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan; Chief Engineer, R&B, Abdul Hamid Sheikh, several Heads of Departments; Deputy Commissioner, Khalid Jehangir and other officers were present on the occasion.
