Mehbooba has no assets, except inherited; Mir multi-millionaire

JAMMU, Apr 7: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has no moveable assets either on her own or the name of her dependents and had only inherited assets to the tune of Rs 55 lakh, which she had shown in the mandatory affidavit filed before the Returning Officer at the time of filing nomination papers for Anantnag Parliamentary constituency.
All columns of moveable and immovable assets of Mehbooba’s affidavit were filled with Nil including those against the names of her dependents except for inherited assets, whose cost she had shown worth Rs 55 lakh.
A Law Graduate from Kashmir University in 1982, Mehbooba had shown Rs 8.63 lakh as her total income in the Income Tax Return filed for the year 2018-19.
Mehbooba has no liabilities.
Compared to her, Pradesh Congress (I) Committee president, GA Mir, who is also a candidate from Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, has Rs 82.36 lakh worth moveable assets on his name and Rs 54.10 lakh similar assets on the name of her wife.
Mir has immoveable assets to the tune of Rs 1.26 crore. He has Rs 45.35 lakh worth self-acquired immoveable property.
Mir owned residential house at Greater Kailash Jammu and two petrol pumps-one each in Jammu and Anantnag.
The PCC chief has shown current market price of self-acquire assets as Rs 8.65 cr and inherited assets as Rs 4 crore. His spouse has Rs 1.4 lakh worth self-acquired assets and Rs 40 lakh inherited property.
Mir is also a Bachelor of Arts from 1982 batch of Kashmir University.
National Conference candidate from Anantnag seat, Justice (Retired) Hasnain Masoodi has Rs 3 lakh worth moveable assets while his wife has similar assets to the tune of Rs 25 lakh. He has self-acquired immoveable property of Rs 5 lakh and his wife Rs 51.5 lakh.
Masoodi has shown market price of his self acquired assets at Rs 60 lakh and inherited assets as Rs 35 lakh while his wife has similar total assets worth Rs 1.5 crore.
He is LLM from Harvard University and has no liabilities from banks or any other financial institutions.
Zaffar Ali, the People’s Conference candidate from Anantnag has only Rs 2 lakh worth moveable assets and no other self-acquired or inherited property.
BJP candidate from South Kashmir seat, Sofi Yusuf has moveable assets of Rs 17.5 lakh and his wife Rs 5.5 lakh.
Sofi has Rs 16.29 lakh worth self-acquired immoveable property.
