Mehalwar Kund Yarta commences

DODA, Aug 19: The annual Mehalwar Kund Yatra started here today from Khalgunie Mata Mandir to Mehalwar located near Himachal border.
Thousands of pilgrims from Chenab valley are participating in the pilgrimage.
This historic pilgrimage last for five days and mostly the pilgrims remain from Chenab region of J&K.
They cover a large distance on foot and trek difficult mountain paths to reach Manmas Kund.
On way Langars are established by both Muslims and Hindus at various places to maintain traditional communal harmony.
Hundreds of devotees participated in the Mahalwar Yatra and they left from Khalagunie Mata Temple in district Doda.
The pilgrims said that religious events like this spread the message of brotherhood and peace.
Locals thanked the pilgrims and hoped that the Yatra will bring happiness and prosperity to the State especially Chenab valley region.
They said that this religious event holds social and cultural importance.
