Mega Legal Services-cum-Awareness camp held at Kupwara

SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Under the aegis of NALSA and as per the directions of Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice of J&K High Court, a mega Legal Services-cum-Awareness Camp was organized today by Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Kupwara, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani (Principal District and Sessions Judge Kupwara) at TRC Complex, Kupwara.
The camp was organized under the leadership of Justice Alok Aradhe, Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority, and in collaboration with District administration. District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, officers of various departments, Judicial Officers and officers of various banks, besides, a large number of local public participated in the camp.
During the camp, stalls were installed by various departments including District Legal Services Authority, Social Welfare, Education, Labour, JK Bank, Grameen Bank, Agriculture, Health, Revenue, KVK, Municipal Committee, etc.
On the occasion, various departments delivered their services to the beneficiaries on spot wherein the Social Welfare Department provided 5 motorized tricycles, 5 hearing aids, 10 sticks and 4 wheel chairs to specially abled persons, besides providing other services.
Similarly, seeds of many crops were distributed free of cost by KVK to 30 farmers of Machill area. The Labour Department provided educational assistance amounting to Rs 18876500 to 2554 registered construction workers of the district, while as aids and appliances were distributed by Education Department to 60 specially abled students. The Motor Vehicle Department also issued RCs, route permits and provided other services.
Lead Bank Manager and Cluster Head J&K Bank provided loan sanctions to 27 beneficiaries under priority sector and the Grameen Bank issued 35 sanction letters on the spot. The department of Agriculture provided tool-kits to the farmers on 50% subsidy while as the Horticulture Department provided 22 tool-kits free of cost to the farmers.
The Department of FCS & CA also provided 20 gas connections free of cost under UJWALA scheme. As many as 30 registered fishermen were provided Nylon-twine free of cost by the Fisheries Department. Whiles the Revenue Department issued PRCs, Income Certificates and Category Certificates etc during the camp. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry also provided many medicines to the farmers for their livestock.
