JAMMU, Nov 16: A mega campus placement week took off at the Shoolini University campus in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Over 22 percent Management students of the 2017 batch got placements with top corporates like HDFC Bank, ICICI Prudential and Shubham Housing Finance. Despite placements having just taken off, the average salary offered to university students was Rs 6.5 lakh per annum.
Giving the information, Prof Arvind Nanda, Director General External Relations, Shoolini University said, “Of the 24 MBA students picked up by the companies, 6 students have been picked up by HDFC Bank, 14 by ICICI Prudential and 4 by Shubham Housing Finance. Considering the demand of students, some mid-size companies have also been invited for placement of students in their respective domains.”
Prof Nanda informed that last year over 120 companies had visited the campus and highest package by the end of placements last year was Rs 12 lakh and this year also the figure was expected to go up. Some of the other prominent companies, which would be visiting the campus during the week, include, ICICI Bank, Air Asia, Groz-Beckert, EMMAR MGF, Abbott, Citi Bank, SBI Cards, Toyota Finance, Essel Infrastructure and OYO Rooms to name a few. Some students have also been picked up for internships.
The university’s Placement Cell, in coordination with different faculties and schools, conducts campus placements through a gala event ‘Placement Week’, which is the first of its kind in Himachal Pradesh and is also in conformity with the IIMs and other top B schools in the country.
Over the years, Shoolini students have been placed with leading companies such as Genpact, LG Electronics, Marsh and McLennan, Gabriel, Havells, Agilent Technologies, Alchemist, DAMCO and others. Shoolini’s final placements have been consistently best in the region across disciplines including MBA, Engineering, Pharmacy & Biotechnology.
