JAMMU, Apr 27: 13th Meeting of Finance Committee and 31st Board of Management Meeting of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of Jammu were held here today under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Dr K S Risam.
In the meetings, threadbare discussions were held on important academic, administrative and financial issues pertaining to the functioning of the University.
Rajesh Talwar, Registrar and Comptroller of the University, presented before the House various agenda items for consideration and confirmation which inter-alia included enhancement in duration of Internship allowance from six months to twelve months to the final year students of Bachelors in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (BV Sc &AH), enhancement of quota for placement of incumbent non-teaching employees in selection grade in their respective cadres in the University, implementation of promotional policies for technical staff and adoption of Annual report for the financial year 2017-18. Host of other issues related to smooth and efficient functioning of the University, career enhancement of teaching / non-teaching staff, caderization of different positions and adoption of various SROs of the State Government in the University for the welfare of the University employees were also deliberated.
In his opening remarking Dr K S Risam highlighted various initiatives taken by the University in Academic, Research and Extension Education.
Other members, who attended the meeting, included Dr J P Sharma, Director Research; Dr TAS Ganai, Director Education; Dr D P Abrol, Dean Faculty of Agriculture; Rohit Gupta, Agro-Industrialist; S Dunda Singh, Progressive farmer; Shadi Lal Pandita, Director Codes, Finance Department and Pritam Singh Rakwal, Director Finance Agriculture Production Department.
