JAMMU, Aug 21: To examine the guidelines for medico-legal care of the victims of sexual violence, the State Government has constituted a committee.
The guidelines, issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will be examined by this committee for submitting its report to the Home Department within four weeks.
Headed by Commissioner Civil Military Liason, Home Department as its convener, the committee comprises Dr Showkat Geelani, HoD Surgery, GMC Srinagar; Dr Arshad Hussain, Associate Professor Psychiatry, GMC Srinagar, Dr Farhat Jabeen, Associate Professor Gynecology, GMC Srinagar, Reyaz Ahmad Darzi, Deputy Director/Chief Prosecuting Officer Crime Headquarters and Mohd Yousuf Shah, Superintendent of Police, SHRC.
