SRINAGAR, Aug 1: A medical-cum-veterinary cum awareness camp was conducted at Razdhan Pass, which is located 12000 feet above sea level, in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district by Army’s 7 Para regiment as part of Operation Sadhbhavna.
A total of 110 males, 92 females, 37 children and 90 livestock were treated in the Camp, an official said here. “The program also included health awareness lectures and distribution of umbrellas and solar lanterns,” he said.
This endeavor of Army, the official said, was aimed at providing relief to Gujjars and Bakarwals who are extremely poor and downtrodden and have thronged from remote places like Poonch and Rajouri in summers for livestock rearing.
“The people had all the praises for efforts of Indian army at such an altitude and difficult terrain. Such efforts will go a long way in bridging the gap between local population and security forces,” he added.
