JAMMU, Dec 23:  Senior Congress leader and former national general secretary, All India Youth Congress (AIYC), Vikram Malhotra today inaugurated a free medical-cum-awareness camp here at Islamia Model High School in Gujjar Nagar.
The camp was organised by ‘Swabhimaan’, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), in collaboration with Shri Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Hospital (SMDCH) and Centre for Sight-Sood Eye Clinic, Jammu, as part of its motive to provide free health services to people at their doorsteps.
Sandeep Mengi, proprietor, Shri Maharishi Dayanand Hospital, Jammu, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Malhotra laid stress on routine and periodical health checkup and suggested them not to ignore even minor ailment, which, he said, could prove vulnerable later. He advised the gathering to fight the diseases instead of hiding them.
Over 350 people availed the free checkup facility and consultation provided by a team of about six senior doctors and other paramedical staff from SMDCH.
