JAMMU, June 23: Slums denote collection of people from various communities having a meager income and living in unhygienic conditions thus making themselves most vulnerable for outbreaks of communicable diseass. Immunization plays a crucial role in Vaccine preventable diseases across the globe.
IRCS Jammu Region in collaboration with Sangharsh Vidya Kendra today organized a Medical Check-up/ immunization camp in the slum areas of Marathas Colony, Trikuta Nagar Jammu for the unprivileged children and women of the society. During the camp, free medicine alongwith free medical consultation, nutrition advise, immunization of children and ladies, was given. Further the relief was also distributed by IRCS, Jammu Region.
The camp team was headed by Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, IRCS, Jammu Region along with his holder team members comprising of Dr. Kavita Nijohn, Medical Officer, Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist and Sangeeta Devi, FMPHW.
Sharma made sure that more and more vaccine programmes will be organized in the coming weeks as there is a definite need to focus on people living in high risk areas to improve the healthcare system.
The camp was supervised by Kanchan Sharma, founder of Sangharsh Vidya Kendra, Maratha Colony, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
