Medical allowance in favour of retired employees needs to be urgently enhanced from Rs 300 to 2500 per month. In the year 2006, the Government enhanced it from Rs 100 to 300 per month in favour of employees and now about 9-10 years have passed. A number of times repeated requests have been made to the Govt but nothing came out. During these years, soaring prices of even essential as well as semi essential commodities have gone up 4-5 times. Also doctors have increased charges more than 4-5 times i.e medical treatment has become more costly and it is very difficult for a pensioner to get treatment with this meagre pension.
In old age, pensioners are prone to disease, and everybody has to pass through the old age. So Govt is once again requested to consider the genuine demands at the earliest.
