MEA condemns disinformation campaign against in-service diploma holders

JAMMU, Sept 12: All J&K Mechanical Engineers Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of TR Sharma, in which large number of Mechanical Engineers took part.
All the members unanimously condemned the disinformation campaign by few persons in Mechanical Engineering community alleging that all fake degrees in Mechanical Engineering are acquired by in-service diploma holders.
The Association after ascertaining all relevant documents clarified that the confusion has been deliberately created in the Hydraulic Wing of the department.
The members informed that Public Works Department through its Under Secretary has sought information regarding the recognition of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers from Director Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi), which was clarified by the Ministry.
The Ministry informed the State Government that the in-service diploma holders, who acquired qualification i.e Associate Membership Examination Section A and B from any of the institute recognized by the Minister of Human Resource (Department of Secondary and Higher Education, New Delhi) are eligible for fixation of their seniority list in the degree holders seniority list and this process is a continuous process since decade and diploma holders have been elevated from Assistant Engineer to the Executive Engineer level.
The members of the Association in the meeting took strong exception to the disinformation campaign initiated by certain vested elements only at the stage, when either the promotion or transfers are to be effected in the Irrigation and PHE Department.
The members resolved that any attempt made by any person having vested interest will be dealt with legally.
