MDP for Horticulture & Marketing Deptt begins at JU Business School

JAMMU, Mar 23: The Business School, University of Jammu is organizing a three-day Management Development Programme “Training the Trainer” for the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Government of Jammu & Kashmir from today.
A total of 10 Grading and Marketing officials have joined the programme. On first day of the programme, resource persons Prof Alka Sharma (TBS, JU), Dr Anil Bhat (SKUAST, Jammu) and Avantika Bakshi (TBS, JU) enlightened the officials about Marketing of Agricultural Produce, Brand Management for Agricultural and Horticultural Products and Digital Branding with special reference to Agricultural Produce.
Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director, Directorate of Distance Education and Professor of The Business School, delivered the keynote address and mentioned the vitality of the educational institutions to train Government officials and familiarise them with technical know-how that could enrich their knowledge and experience.
Digvijay Gupta, Joint Director, Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, J&K, was the special guest for the inaugural session. He emphasized the promotion of quality research in the Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture domain and thanked the vision of Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Government of Jammu & Kashmir Vikas Sharma for promoting quality training for the officials of the department to upgrade their knowledge and skill sets. He reiterated the need of such programmes every quarter for the benefit of officials and all stakeholders.
Professor Vinay Chauhan, Director of The Business School JU, accentuated the programme’s significance and its substantial role in imparting knowledge related to marketing of agricultural produce, brand management and digital branding among others.
Dr Rachna Mahajan, Associate Professor, The Business School, delivered the formal vote of thanks. The session was coordinated by Dr Farah S Chaudhary, Senior Assistant Professor, The Business School.
