RAJOURI, July 24: The casual labourers of Municipal Committee Thannamandi led by Imtiaz Wani, Ashfaq Jaral, Farooq Khan and Shahzad Gani Shawl staged protest and demanded release of their pending wages which have not been paid from last ten months.
The workers of the MC Thannamandi assembled in the premises today morning and started protest. They were shouting slogans in support of their demand of releasing pending wages of last 10 months. They said it was very unfortunate that the poor casual labourers were not paid their due wages but those casual labourers who are working on the shops and houses of officers/ officials of Municipal Committe are being paid regularly which shows the partial attitude of Municipal authorities.
They further alleged that the funds of Municipal tax of Commercial vehicles as well as other revenue are being misused by the authorities but their legitimate wages are not being paid which is great injustice with them.
They sought intervention of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and Director Local Bodies Jammu.
