MBBS, JKPF observe Feb 22 as ‘Sankalp Divas’

New Delhi, Feb 22: Mirpur Balidan Bhawan Samity (MBBS), New Delhi in collaboration Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Forum (JKPF) today observed the February 22 as ‘Sankalp Divas’ at Mirpur Balidan Bhawan, Lajpat Nagar-1, New Delhi, here.
The programme was arranged by Mehendra Mehta, convenor JKPF, Dr Sudesh Ratan, president MBBS, Madan Mohan Gupta, general secretary and coordinator and treasurer of the Samity, Shyam Sunder Gupta.

Justice Pramod Kohli, Chief Justice (Retired), Sikkim High Court was the chief guest, while Padam Shri Jawahar Lal Kaul, president, J&K Study Centre, Delhi was the chief speaker and Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Registrar General (Retd.), Delhi High Court was invited to preside the programme, besides Justice Vidhya Bhushan Gupta, Judge (Retd.) Delhi High Court was the guest of honour.
During the event, the speakers emphasised that following the terrorist activities sponosred by the Pakistan to highlight the Kashmir dispute, the both the Houses of the Parliament of India unanimously adopted a resolution on 22nd February, 1994 emphasising that “Jammu and Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India and any attempts to separate from the rest of the country will be resisted by all means.”
All the speakers further emphasized that Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) area is also an integral part of our J&K and the displaced persons including Hindus and Sikhs from the POJK in 1947 are the real stakeholders of this area which was illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947 and said that POJK area should be vacated immediately.
The Displaced Persons (DPs) had to leave their native place due to communal violence leaving behind all their movable and immovable properties. Atrocities were committed on both Hindus and Sikhs and thousands were killed. Some of them (DPs) were settled in Jammu and others were sent to the different places of the country.
Presently, they (DPs) are living in Delhi, Punjab, HP, Rajasthan, UP, Uttaranchal, West Bengal and Maharashtra etc and demanded that after abrogation of Article 370, these DPs who settled outside Jammu have been recognized as the citizen of Union Territory of J&K by granting ‘Domicile Certificates’ to them.
