SRINAGAR, Sept 19: Mazher Hussain, Executive Director, Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA), met N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhawan today.
Mr. Hussain presented to the Governor, a strategy paper for rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. He offered the services of the COVA in facilitating the locals to organize welfare committees at the grass root level, formation of advocacy groups to take up issues of the affected people with the State and the Central Governments and safety assessment of the houses in rural areas and of economically weaker sections of the society.
The Governor said that his suggestions would be duly forwarded to the Chief Minister.
