Mayor takes stock of public problems

JAMMU, Mar 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta today visited the Bhour Camp and its adjoining locality in Ward number 73 and took stock of the problems of the locals of these areas.
During visit, the locals of the area put forth their demands like deployment of Safai Karamcharis and other field staff in the newly extended Ward as most of the lanes and drains in the area are not properly constructed and needed renovation.
The locals also raised the demand of installation of street lights in the locality and construction of boundary wall around the cremation ground there.
The Mayor assured that all genuine demands will be resolved at an earliest and appealed general public not to throw household garbage on the road and in drains and put the same in dustbins.
The Mayor also said that JMC is taking several steps to improve the infrastructure.
He appealed shopkeepers to put their belongings inside their shops and avoid encroachment of the footpath. The shopkeepers were also urged to keep dustbins outside their shops so that the surroundings are kept clean and green.
The Mayor also talked on avoiding the use of poly bags.
Prominent among those who accompanied the Mayor were Pitamber Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Gardhari Lal, Inder Khajuria, Subash, Om Parkash and others.
