JAMMU,Sept 9: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today along with Kapil Singh Chib, councillor of Ward No: 64 conducted an extensive tour in the areas of Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar and its surrounding localities.
The local people apprised him of their various demands and Mayor assured them that all their genuine demands will be redressed in a time bond manner. He along with concerned councilor later kick started the construction work of deep drain at Durga Nagar / Roop Nagar to be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh which is being executed by the UEED. He directed the engineers of UEED and concerned contractor to complete the work within stipulated time period by applying best quality material up to the satisfaction of the locals.
Manohar Singh president Market Association, Durga Nagar / Roop Nagar, Dushyant Singh Chib, Mandal president BJYM, Abheet Sangotra, Varun Rajput, Janak Singh and other prominent residents of the Ward were also present during the function.
Later, Mayor along with Madam Sandhya Gupta councilor of Ward No: 15 also kick started the construction / renovation work of deep drain near Anandpur Ashram (Kutia) at Mohalla behind Indra Chowk, Jammu at the estimated cost of Rs 8.25 Lakh which was also the main demand of the locals as well as devotees who visit the Ashram on routine basis. Sanjay Mahay ex councillor, JMC, Vaid Gandotra president Freedom Fighters Association, Jammu, Anil Gupta and other prominent persons of locality and representatives from Anandpur Ashram, Sunil Sharma Executive Engineer, Ajay Gupta Assistant Executive Engineer, . Ram Pal, Junior Engineer of Division-I, JMC were also present there.
Besides, the Mayor along with concerned engineers of Division-I of JMC also paid a visit at C.M. Rajwal Path Shalla situated at Mohalla Kanji House Jammu on the request of Dr. D.K Manyal chairman of C.M Rajwal Education Trust.
The Management Committee requested the Mayor for construction of separate toilet amenities for males / females and staff members, water tank, one small room and other allied works as the School lacks these basic facilities. Mayor appreciated the initiatives taken by the Trust for the welfare of needy persons and assured them all their genuine issues will be resolved on merits.
