JAMMU, Sept 29: Continuing his drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu along with Jai Deep Sharma, councilor of Ward No.22, today conducted an extensive tour in the various localities of Shastri Nagar area, met with the locals and listened to the general issues regarding construction of leftover lanes , drains, deployment of more Safai Karamcharis against the retired ones, lifting of stray dogs ,animals on routine basis, better maintenance of parks in their locality as well as other day to day matters regarding Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and other departments. Mayor assured them that all their genuine issues will be resolved in a time bound manner.
Further, to fulfil the long pending demands of the locals, Mayor in presence of the concerned councillor kick started the overall face lifting of the park situated near Ram Darbar Mandir (opposite temple )in Shastri Nagar., He said that an amount of Rs. 8.00 lakh has been sanctioned for this development work which includes installation of more iron grills on all sides of the park and its proper painting, renovation and construction of boundary wall to restrict the entry of anti social elements and stray animals in the park, fixation of tiles around the three gates to give better look, repair of broken tiles fixed in the walking area for the people, installation of beautiful and durable marble around the traditional and old pipe tree situated in the park where large number of devotees come for puja of the Peeple tree.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned Junior Engineer of Division IV JMC concerned contractor, field staff of Health Section, V. K Sethi, K.L Sharma, Vinod Abrol, Chowdhary Kewal, Om Pal Sharma, S. Bhupinder Singh, Chowdhary Puran, Abhi Nandan Sharma, Vikas Sharma and other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also present there during the tour.
Mayor directed the concerned Engineering Wing to complete this development work within the stipulated time period by applying best quality and durable construction material and upto the entire satisfaction of the concerned councilor as well as locals of the area. He further said that JMC has already taken up the job for providing best development facilities to the people of Jammu in terms of installation of colorful and beautiful fountains in the various rotaries of the city, commissioning of open gyms with requisite number of equipments in every Ward,etc.
