Mayor kick starts developmental works in Ward 33

JAMMU, Mar 25: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta today kick started the construction of lane number 10 and drain opposite to Mishra Public School, Raj Pura Mangotrian in Ward number 33.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that an amount of Rs 2.10 lakh has been allotted for the construction work of lane and drain. He said that the work has been started on the demands of the locals who were facing great hardships due to dilapidated condition of the lane.
Mayor directed to the Engineering wing of the JMC to complete the work of laying of tiles and covering of drain properly within the stipulated time frame by applying best quality material for its long durability. Vijay Kumar Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer, S K Bhat, and other supervisory staff of Division-II were also present on the occasion.
Later, Mayor along with Yash Pal Sharma, Chairman Swachh Bharat Standing Committee, JMC inaugurated the CTPT Block being constructed by Lakshay Social Service Organization under “Swachh Bharat Mission” at Yard number 6, Transport Nagar, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that the CTPT block has been completed with an estimate cost of Rs 10.50 lakh only having separate toilet complex for ladies & gents, one bathroom, urinals as well as one care taker room.
He said that JMC has already constructed about 250 CTPT units in different parts under Swachh Bharat Mission for convenience of general public. Mayor appealed the people to come forward and cooperate with JMC and other allied agencies in all the development works being undertaken in the city so that the aim of making Jammu neat, clean and green can be achieved successfully with the active support of the citizens.
V K Thakur, Vice Chairman along with other staff of Lakshay Social Service Organization, president and other representatives of Transport Nagar, Janak Singh, Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned Junior Engineer and field staff of Health & Engineering Section of Division-I were also accompanied the Mayor during the inaugural function.
