Mayor, Dy Mayor inaugurate Toilet complex

JAMMU, July 22: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma here today inaugurated a Toilet complex near Government Women College Parade.
Ch Gulam Rasool, Executive Engineer; Ajay Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer; Rampaul, Junior Engineer; Anil Kumar, JMC Councilor; Vishav Partap Singh, Darshan Singh, Karan Khajuria , Rahul Kumar and other prominent locals of the area were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor said that a toilet in Parade area was the long pending demand of shopkeepers there and adjoining areas as the area is regularly visited by a large number of people for shopping and other purposes.
He also said that toilet facility is essentially needed during the present crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic and appealed general public to avail these sanitation facilities and avoid open defecation, spitting, urination etc to make Jammu city neat and clean.
A handout stated that the toilet complex has been constructed with an estimate cost of Rs. 10.50 lakh and is having separate bathrooms for gents and ladies, separate urinals and toilets facilities apart from caretaker’s room.
Earlier, Vinay Katal, Chairman All J&K NGO’s Federation presented welcome address and briefed on sanitation activities being done by his organization.
