Mayor, Billawaria inaugurate Open Gym

JAMMU, Sept 3: Continuing his drive to provide better development and civic amenities to Jammu people, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor along with Baldev Singh Billawaria, JMC Chairman of Public Health and Sanitation Standing Committee and Jeet Kumar Angral, Chairman Social Justice Standing Committee JMC inaugurated Open Gym in a park of Ward Number 56, Gangyal, here.
Bharat Bhushan Gangyal BJP Mandal president, Jyoti Parkash Mandal general secretary , Ranjeet Singh Mandal vice president , Harbans Choudhary prominent BJP leader, Puran Verma Chairman of Gangyal Durga Mandir Committee were present during the function.
Mayor said that due to the sincere efforts of Kavinder Gupta, Ex- Deputy Chief Minister and Baldev Singh, Councillor of the ward, this park has been developed with green space, walk way and other facilities by the JMC.
He further said that the JMC is committed to provide all types of development and recreation facilities to the citizens of Jammu in every ward of the city. “The Jammu Municipal Corporation has already taken up the job of commissioning Open Gyms with an estimate cost of Rs 2 lakh in each ward of the city on the demands of concerned councillors,” he asserted.
Billawaria said that the concept of commissioning Open Gyms in the parks is a unique step and wonderful innovation and it is dire requirement in these days of busy schedule of human life as it caters with all the necessary requirements which are necessary to maintain physical fitness in one’s life. Later, Mayor also visited Jeevan Nagar area and took stock of the ongoing works.
