KATRA, Jan 10: The pilgrimage to world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine was suspended on the new battery car track today following a fire broke out in the nearby forest area of Trikuta Hills.
The fire broke out this morning near Adh-Kuwari in Lambi Keri forest between old track and the new track.
As the fire started spreading and engulfed more area, the yatra was temporarily suspended from new battery car from 11. 30 am as a preventive measure because of some stone shooting due to the fire. Till last reports came in the yatra was suspended on the new track.
“However, the pilgrimage is in progress from old traditional track,” said Police and added the men were on job to douse the flames and yatra would resume from the new track also once the fire was controlled.
