Mass copying

Sir,
Refer news item, ’13 teachers caught mass-copying…. DE Dec 30.
This is news regarding teachers caught mass-copying is quite disturbing and does not bode well for the Education Department which is already in a bad shape in the State. The mass-copying by these teachers is symptomatic of deep malaise that afflicts the department. Those who have been at the helm of affairs have never thought of bringing drastic changes, rather reforms in the education system of the State. It is quite ironical that the department which should have been receiving great priority is quite neglected. It is an admitted fact that promotion in the department are affected at a snail’s pace and this is what prevents efficient people not to opt this job. They would prefer banking or insurance sector or go for lucrative jobs in private sector. The teachers job is now for those who do not find jobs in any other sector.
The Government itself has been responsible for lowering the standard of Government run schools. One example that can be cited to corroborate the fact is that B.Ed which is quite essential for getting a teachers’ job in rest of the counting, no such provision is there for recruitment of teachers in this State. A 10+2 student can get a teacher’s job here. How do you expect standard of education in schools with such teachers.
Unless the Education Department revamps the system, mass-copying incidents will keep on making headlines of the newspapers.
Yours etc….
