SHOPIAN, Oct 19: Member Parliament, Lok Sabha, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi today chaired District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Mini Secretariat to review the physical and financial progress of various Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in the district.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb through powerpoint presentation apprised the chair about ongoing development projects, schemes in the district and implementation status and progress under CSSs along with the achievements of departments.
Masoodi reviewed MGNREGA, PMAY (R&U), SBM, NRLM, NHM, Ayushman Bharat/ JK Sehat Scheme, JSY, JSSK, HADP, PMGSY, IDPS, JJM, AIBP, PMKSY, Poshan Abhiyaan and other centrally sponsored schemes, one by one.
While taking stock of department wise progress, MP stressed upon bettering the performance under these schemes.
The MP stressed for keeping an adequate buffer of transformers for the winter and the need of having workshops at Keller, and Zainapora also, effective implementation of JJM, completing all targets of HHU under PMAY during the year.
He also asked for putting in place drug de-addiction and rehabilitation facilities along with treatment facilities. He sought status of road construction, healthcare facilities and winter preparedness during the meeting.
Masoodi also sought vacant positions of health and education staff and need for reflection with higher authorities for early provision along with creation of new posts, enrollment status, drop-outs rates, status of migratory schools.
He also asked for making approaches towards Institutional Home for Women in the district, and better facilities to inmates in Children Homes, empowerment of women, children, downtrodden and Tribals besides emphasising upon officers for removal of bottlenecks in the implementation of schemes especially in KPDCL billing.
The MP also sought feedback from officers of Power, Jal Shakti, Horticulture, Health, Education, Social welfare and others on their department’s activities and future plans to bridge developmental gaps.
He asked all the officers to remain in touch with the people, pay regular visits and organize camps in all the remote and far-flung areas so that the people can avail maximum benefits of the schemes meant for the welfare of the people.
DDC Chairperson, Bilqees Jan; President, MC Shopian, Subhash Koul; SSP, Tanushree; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; SEs, and other sectoral and district officers of line departments attended the meeting besides a number of PRI members.
