KISHTWAR , May 10: Martyrs of Kishtwar who sacrificed their lives fighting militancy were paid floral tribute in a function organized at Subash Park on the eve of 30 th Balidan Diwas. Large Number of people including family members of martyrs attended the function .
On 10 May 1993 Hindu Raksha Samiti, leader Satish Bhandari was killed by terrorists and since then every year on 10 th of May is observed as Balidan Diwas to remember all the martyrs of district Kishtwar.
Mahatma Ram Saran Dass Shastri , Zila Sangh Chalak Roshan Lal Sharma, president Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Prof Surinder Sen , educationist Vivek Kumar, educationist, Ram Sewak Sharma, BJP general secretary and former Minister, Sunil Sharma, president Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hans Raj Bhutyal , senior BJP leader, Rajinder Sen , and Zila Karyawah Sanjay Sharma addressed the gathering.
Recalling the struggle of the people they stressed on the necessity not to forget the essence of their sacrifice. Students presented cultural programmes as tribute to martyrs.
