Refer news item ‘Prof Virender criticises State Govt’s apathy towards martyrs’ families’ DE June 13.
There is urgent need to redress the grievances of martyrs families in the State. The apathetic and callous attitude of the State towards martyrs families has been highlighted a number of times through print and electronic media. Even then no attention has been paid to them. The family members of these martyrs have to run from pillar to post to get compensation, and other percuniary claims redressed at proper fora. During this process they face humiliation, and arrogance on part of authorities.
The Government must issue directions to the concerned department to redress the grievances of these people on priority and without consuming much time, and sympathetically. After all the martyrs have sacrificed for the cause of the country.
