Martyr Imran’s body denied air lifting protocol: Harsh Dev

JAMMU, Nov 19:  While the Ministers unabashedly used the State plane and choppers for their joy rides, for private functions, marriage parties and for ferrying even their spouses for personal trips, the body of martyred Sub Inspector Imran Tak who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, was sent from Srinagar to Udhampur by ambulance, regretted NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh.
“Not only that the martyred officer was taken from Udhampur to Basantgarh in a 407 troops carrier which further took around five hours thereby, keeping the body of the martyred son of the soil in transit mode for more than 13 hours,” lamented former minister Harsh Dev.
He maintained that the formal protocol in such situations was transportation of the martyred solider by air as a mark of honour and also to ensure that the body reached his home at the earliest which he said was egregiously violated in the present case.  Describing the Govt’s action as highly contemptuous, Singh said that the State Govt had shown the highest dis-respect to a national hero who gave his life for his motherland. He said some Ministers particulars those of Jammu region though joined the wreath laying ceremony at Udhampur, but could not provide air services for ferrying the body of the martyr to his native village in Basantgarh.
Harsh Dev,  who was in Basantgarh  to pay last rites to Insp Imran, said that the people of the area boiled with rage over the highly contemptuous approach of the State Govt in denying the helicopter services for the martyr’s body. He said that people had even offered to pay the chopper charges for the transhipment of the body of their brave-heart by air  but regretfully none responded.
Paying his rich tributes to the departed hero, Harsh Dev said that Imran Tak had provided the highest example of bravery by taking on the armed mercenaries singlehandedly and eliminating one of the Pak sponsored militants despite being fatally wounded. He said that the daring Sub Inspector who was known for his valour and courage had taken part in several operations and was a terror for the anti- national forces operating in the Valley. He is a youth icon who set an  example for the younger generations.
