Many long pending issues of Ghat area people resolved on-the-spot

JAMMU, June 28: Back to Village has really turned out to be a delivery oriented exercise for the people of Ghat area of Doda as unique initiatives taken by a young KAS officer immediately resolved the long pending and critical issues relating to education, health and social welfare sectors etc.
The officer Jahangir Hashmi, Additional Chief Executive Officer in the Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency not only acted on the guidelines of the Back to Village Programme but resolved the burning issues of the people by not only passing instructions to the concerned authorities but by ensuring prompt action on the same.
As per the reports, the officer arranged visit of specialist doctors like gynaecologist, paediatrician and physician from the District Hospital to Primary Health Centre Ghat for OPD and due to this initiative more than 50 patients received medical attention at their door steps instead of going through the hassle of visiting the District Hospital.
He even got demarcation of the area of the Girls Middle School Ghat within 24 hours. “This issue was pending during the past quite long time but visit of the officer to the area during Back to Village Programme proved fruitful”, the people of the area said, adding “the officer even got water facility restored to GHSS Ghat within three hours, which otherwise was not available during the past several months”.
Based on the feedback received from the teacher, it was decided that Government Middle School Ghat would start a Kindergarten from next week. Moreover, in order to improve the quality and base of incoming students in GHSS Ghat in Class 9th, it was decided that remedial classes will be started from next Monday and regularized from next academic session wherein basics of Class 5 to Class 8 would be taught to weak students for first two months after their admission to 9th class to improve the quality.
On the issue of lack of space in the school, the officer asked the local IGNOU Coordinator to make a pre-fabricated arrangement for Physics and Chemistry labs in school. Six speed breakers were made jointly by locals and R&B Department in the presence of KAS officer.
Vaccination to large number of cattle through the Animal Husbandry Department on the basis of feedback from the people, interaction for 300 students on skill development and making irrigation khuls functional within hours were the other positive outcomes of the initiatives taken by the visiting officer.
