KATHUA, Sept 24: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, today said that the Coalition Government was committed to establish a vibrant Panchayati Raj system in the State which would function as self-Government.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering after laying foundation stone of Panchayat Ghar building at village Mela of Kathua district.
The Panchayat Ghar building will come up at an estimated cost of 20 lakh provided under State Plan and MGNREGA.
Block Development Officer, Hiranagar, Tehsildar, Panchs and Sarpachs and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sharma said panchayats in the State are in grooming stage and every effort will be made to help these to grow as vibrant democratic institutions.
