KATHUA, Sept 12: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, held a public grievances redressal camp at Koug in tehsil Billawar.
Sarpanch Kough Tara Chand apprised the Minister of various problems and demands like repair of Mandli- Kough road, new handpump and repair of defunct hand pumps, road and electricity problem in Ward No 1, construction of road from Hospital to Higher Secondary School Kough, shortage of staff in Higher Secondary School Kough, installation of high mast lights and sheds at both the historic temples of Nar Singh Ji and Mata Durga Ji besides start of Sanskrit and Commerce subject at Higher Secondary Kough.
Dr Sharma assured the people that their genuine demands and problems will be fulfilled on priority basis.
The Minister said the Government is striving hard to upgrade the educational infrastructure. He said 11 Primary Schools, 8 Middle Schools, 2 High Schools and 1 Higher Secondary have been opened in Kough, Dhannu Parole, Najot, Kudetar and Lahri.
Responding to problem of ration supply, Dr Sharma said Government has devised a plan to open new ration depots in the state to address the ration supply problem. He said the posts of weigh man and salesman in new ration depots will give employment to the youths of the respective areas.
Dr Sharma directed XEn PWD to complete the patchwork on Kough road immediately for the convenience of commuters.
The Minister appealed the public to cooperate with the administration in tackling with the situation arisen due to recent natural disaster.
Earlier, the Minister distributed cheques of Rs 30,000 each among 104 beneficiaries under Integrated Housing Slum Development programme (IHSDP).
