Manohar describes Railway Budget as directionless

JAMMU,  Feb 26:  Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has described the Union Railway Budget as directionless and an eye-wash.
Reacting to the Budget presented in the Parliament by the Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu yesterday,  Manohar Lal said that the budget is merely an eye-wash and mockery for the people.  He said before presenting the budget, the rail fare  as well as the reservation charges and the freight charges were raised twice in the past 19 months  and recently also hardly less than two months earlier presenting the budget in the Parliament.
The Congress leader pointed out that BJP Government always adopted a modus operandi to befool the peoples of the nation by using such tactics as the rise in fare and other charges has already been affected and now they are speaking that there is no hike in the Budget.
Dr Sharma while commenting on the Union  Budget said that what has been given to nation through this budget?  There is nothing about the much awaited announcements of Modi’s  Bullet train, nothing specific has been said about the new rail tracks, very less focus given on  signaling and security of the lines and improvement of existing tracks including unmanned railway crossings.
No new train has been introduced and no additional coaches have been introduced keeping in view the heavy rush of passengers. The basic hygiene is compromised and nothing  concrete has been announced in this regard.
Dr Sharma expressed serious concern over the public demands like rail link from Lakhanpur to Billawar, Basohli- Bani- Bhadarwah and Jammu- Rajouri- Poonch, which was much awaited and it was committed by the BJP leadership during both elections of  Parliament and State Assembly.
