SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party president and MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia moved a Breach of Privilege Motion  against Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul on his statement against the MLA in the House on Monday.
Speaker Legislative Assembly claimed that he has never said what was attributed in the press but instead said “Mankotia ne bahut Kaam kiya hai, log Inse Pyaar karen”
But Balwant Singh Mankotia refused to withdraw the motion and initiating Breach of Privilege against Speaker and said “Yesterday I requested Speaker to allow me to speak in Assembly on border tension due to continued unprovoked firing by Pakistan and ongoing agitation  in Udhampur on Railway issue. I started my speech on this issue and was repeatedly interrupted by Speaker, when I tried to apprise the House about the gravity, I was marshalled out, thereafter, Speaker passed certain comments which were highly objectionable and contemptuous, as, he said the behaviour of this MLA (Mankotia) is worst, the people of his constituency should teach lesson”. By making such comments he has tried to be partisan and behaved like an opposition leader.
This further constitutes the Breach of my Privilege, hence the motion for Breach of Privilege be entertained.”
While speaking in the debate on PDP motion on Withdrawal of FIRs against alleged Stone Pelters, Balwant Singh Mankotia said that Panthers Party is against it but strongly opposes amnesty to anti-nationals. He said that use of police force against Political opponents is totally wrong.  He said that Panthers Party has been protesting against the appointment of Kashmiri stone pelters in Jammu region by the Railway Ministry, but the ministry is silenty on this despite repeated representations.
“Instead the State Government has started using pressure tactics and deployed Hundreds of Police personnel outside my residence and is frisking and threatening each and every person entering my house,” alleged Mankotia, adding “the Police is asking Panthers party activists to leave the party otherwise they will be implicated in false cases.”
