JAMMU, Apr 9: Former MLA from Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia today called on Aam Aadmi Party National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Delhi today.
Mankotia, a two-times MLA from Udhampur Assembly Constituency from J&K National Panthers Party, joined Aam Aadmi Party yesterday in presence of Delhi DyCM, Manish Sisodia and Cabinet Ministers- Gopal Rai and Imran Hussain besides two party MLAs and J&K Incharge of the AAP, Durgesh Pathak.
Party sources said that during his meeting Mankotia discussed current political scenario in J&K with Kejriwal, specially after the abrogation of Article 370. He also apprised him of various education, health, and unemployment related problems being faced by people in J&K. He also revealed that there was trust deficit between the public and the Administration. There was no accountability at all and there was no access to the bureaucrats/ Babus of the common people.
During his 50- minute long meeting with Kejriwal, Mankotia also discussed the upcoming J&K assembly elections strategy. He also shared the information with regard to Delimitation exercise in J&K wherein BJP apparently tried its best to exploit the situation and its position in favour of the party. He gave detail about possible benefit to AAP in the pocket of Jammu region in the coming elections.
Mankotia also discussed unemployment issue being faced by the educated youth of the J&K, and said that unemployed youth are deadly against the present dispensation. This segment is needed to be taken into confidence. It can render good support to the party if some good commitments are made for their better future. Besides this several other burning issues of J&K were discussed with Kejriwal by Mankotia.
Later, Arvind Kejriwal assured his full support to these genuine issues and also appreciated Mankotia for his continuous efforts to raise the genuine issues of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He also asked him to shoulder the responsibilities being given to him by the party shortly.
