KATHUA, Sept 18: Manju Singh wife of Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh today visited Kathua to participate in a BJP programmes on the invitation of local MLA Rajiv Jasrotia.
During her visit Manju Singh listened to the problems of the people of Kathua Constituency and was also present during the inauguration of the various developmental works by the MLA.
She along with Rajiv Jasrotia visited villages Barnoti, Tarada, Budhi, Barwal, Uttari, Kharote and Keerian Gandyal. The MLA inaugurated work of lanes & drains at Budhi & Tube-well at Kharote.
Manju Singh while addressing the public meetings said that MP of Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency is in constant touch with the people and he has taken many initiates to settle the long standing problems of the people of the Constituency by launching many developmental projects like Biotechnology Park, Dreamland Park, Krindya Gandyal bridge over river Ravi, in Kathua, cultivation of aerometical and other medicinal plants in Basohli, identification of 80 kanals of land in Hiranagar for settlement of border migrants and many more projects for public welfare were taken up in hand.
She complimented the people of Kathua for the love and affection shown by them for BJP and MP during the elections and after words and assured them that she will also take up the public concerning issues with him. She said already she had taken up the issue of construction of the latrines in the border belt where the women folk had to go in open especially during the night hours. She assured the people that she will work amidst them as a social activist to mitigate their sufferings and extend all sort of cooperation and help for solving their problems.
Addressing the gatherings Rajiv Jasrotia asked the concerned authorities to complete all the launched projects within stipulated time frame by using quality material. He said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the developmental schemes. He asked the accompanying officers to formulate detailed projects report to meet the left out development needs of people in the area and submit the same for funding so that improved basic amenities to the residents be provided.
Jasrotia said that the Coalition Government was committed to development of with focused attention to improve basic amenities. He said that the Government is committed to create durable assets in the State under core sectors and for the purpose there was no constraint of funds. Jasrotia said that Government is keen to address public concerns on priority and the development machinery has already been geared up for timely redressal of the development related issues of the people across the State.
