SAMBA, Sept 22: Apni Party, provincial president, Jammu, Manjit Singh has sought job protection for local unemployed youth in industries, AIIMS Jammu and other sectors in J&K.
Addressing a public meeting at Barian village in Samba, Manjit said that industries are being opened in J&K but the Government should ensure jobs to educated youth for skilled and unskilled jobs.
“The jobs are not being given to the local youth as per agreement between industry and the Government,” he claimed adding that appropriate share in jobs should be reserved for locals.
He further said that issues for Jammu have not reduced but doubled negatively with regard to business and employment.
Singh said that mining works have been allotted to non-locals leaving the local miners workless.
“The work of mining has been allotted to non-locals which has also caused problems to the environment due to ruthless extraction of minerals,” he said.
The Apni Party leader demanded that Panchayats should be involved in mining works for its rational use and extraction so that the natural resources are not exploited so aggressively.
