JAMMU, Jan 25: Bi-annual election of All J&K Senior Citizen Council was held today at Mahajan Hall, Jammu in which the new body was elected to manage the organisation for two years.
Those elected unanimously were S. Manjit Singh as president, Sarla Kohli as senior vice president, KC Gupta as vice president and KN Singh as general secretary of the Council.
The outgoing president Nirmala Chattoo highlighted the performance of the Council for the last two years especially in various programmes organised by the Council.
While expressing gratitude of the members, she lauded their role as one unit for their relentless support for running the origanisation smoothly. At present the council runs day care center for senior citizens, Chopal in rural areas and medical camps at different places for check up and follow up besides providing pre and post check up facilities. The Council is being run with financial support of members only without any Government support.
