Manjit seeks promotion of religious tourism

SAMBA, July 5: Apni Party provincial president, Manjit Singh here today demanded promotion of religious tourism in Samba district.
Addressing a workers meet he said previous government neglected religious sites which can be developed into major tourist attraction in Samba. “Among these religious places are many historic sites of the times of Dogra rulers which need preservation and promotion to attract tourism,” Manjit Singh claimed.
He said that religious places like Utterbehni, Swankha, Chambliyal, Goran, Chichi Mata temple and others need efforts by the government to promote them on tourism map of the country.
He said that forts in Samba, Ramgarh and Morh Garh are left unattended and need renovation and protection.
“These heritage sites should be protected by the concerned department. The deplorable condition of historic forts reflects poor approach of the department concerned,” he maintained.
“The people should join a movement led by Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari to take J&K towards the track of peace and prosperity and equal development of Jammu and Kashmir without discrimination,” the Apni Party leader said.
On this occasion many people joined Apni Party in presence of Manjit Singh and party District President, Raman Thappa.
Prominent among those who joined the party were Ram Lal Purohit, Prem Lal, Dharam Singh, Sunny Sambyal, Bishan Singh Nadala, Raman Sharma, Tirath Singh, Anil Singh, Shubam Verma, Sachin Sharma, Daleep Kumar, Aman Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Manish Sharma, Kamal Kumar, Abishak Katal, Dheeraj Sharma and others.
Ex-Sarpanch, Mani Ram Sharma, Ram Lal Parooite, Prem Chand, Joginder Lal, Dharam Singh, Sunny Sumbhal, Raman Sharma, Balu Choudhary, ST leader Saleem Alam and Panjubo Ram were also present in the meeting.
