SAMBA, Mar 31: Apni Party (AP) provincial president, Jammu and former Minister, Manjit Singh today paid rich tributes to Indian Army Jawan, Vipan Kumar on his martyrdom day.
As per the release, Manjit Singh accompanied by prominent citizens, and elected Panchayat members garlanded the statue of the martyr at village Ranwans in tehsil Ramgarh.
After offering a flower tributes to the martyr who laid down his life while fighting against militants in 2002 on March 31, Manjit Singh said that these sacrifices cannot be forgotten by the people of the country.
“Our country and its borders are safe because of these soldiers who laid down their lives for the defence of the country. Our future generation must be taught about these martyrs in the schools,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that anti-national elements fail before our defence forces and hence, it becomes imperative for the society to honour and respect the families of the martyrs.
He urged the youth to contribute towards nation building with their hard work and strengthening of the defence of the country.
He lauded the role of border residents where most of the families prefer sending their children to the Armed forces of the country.
“We are proud of these people who themselves face bullets during ceasefire on the International Border (IB) villages and on the other, their children give befitting responses to the enemies on the border and within the areas infected with militancy,” he said.
Meanwhile, the prominent citizens and PRIs also spoke on the occasion and lauded the role of the Indian army and other security forces.
