JAMMU, Oct 13: Accompanied by BJP State Secretary, Arun Chibber, Rajya Sabha MP, Sahamsher Singh Manhas, also BJP In-charge of BDC elections for Udhampur district, toured Tikri, Pancheri and Landar areas of the district.
During tour, the MP held several meetings of Panches and Sarpanches and took stock of preparations for the upcoming Block Development Councils (BDC) elections.
While addressing the Panches and Sarpanches, the MP said that this is the time when morale and confidence of party workers has to be high as after the abrogation of Article 370 things are changing rapidly throughout the State in a positive manner.
“Development has been the main issue since independence and J&K has lacked very much in this regard but as of now the whole scenario is changing with the emergence of strong leadership at the Centre,” he said.
Manhas further said that BDCs are going to play key role in terms of grass root developments focusing far- flung and under developed areas of the region.
“Panchayats have an important role to play in development. Thus, one must take BDC polls seriously,” he added.
