Man, wife, sons get 8 yrs RI in murder case

JAMMU, July 31: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today awarded eight years rigorous imprisonment to Tarsem Lal, his wife Darshana Kumari and his two sons namely Narinder Kumar alias Sonu and Mahinder Lal for killing a man over an old enmity in Miran Sahib area in March 2011.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Rakesh Badyal for the State whereas Advocate Sanjay Mehta for the accused persons, court observed, ” age of the accused and the accused having no criminal back ground cannot be lost sight of but the act of the accused  also cannot be lost sight of”.
“As per the accused, they are the members of one family and they have to look after their families.   They have been facing the trial for over 07 years. Therefore, keeping in view all the facts and circumstances and while balancing the aggravating and the mitigating circumstances, the ends of justice will be met in case all the accused namely  Tarsem Lal, son of Anant Ram, Darshana Kumari, wife of Tarsem Lal, Narinder Kumar alias Sonu, Mahinder Lal, sons of Tarsem Lal, residents of Banyagarh in R S Pura tehsil are sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a term of eight years”, the court said.
