Man who plotted terrorist attack at Taylor Swift concert sentenced to 15 yrs: Reports

MOSCOW, May 29: An Austrian court sentenced a 21-year-old member of the Islamic State terror group (IS, ISIS, banned in Russia), accused of plotting a terrorist attack at a concert by US singer Taylor Swift in Vienna, to 15 years in prison, the DPA news agency reported.
In late April, the ORF news portal reported, citing the lawyer of the defendant, that he had pleaded guilty to most charges.
A second defendant in this case was sentenced to 12 years in prison, the report said on Thursday.
In August 2024, Barracuda Music, the organiser of Taylor Swift concerts, canceled three shows in Vienna after security forces reported a possible terrorist attack. The Austrian Interior Ministry said that a 19-year-old Austrian suspected of planning a terrorist attack had been detained in the town of Ternitz, and other detentions took place on the same day as part of investigation into the case.
