JAMMU, Feb 22: A 28-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his friend after the duo had a heated argument over a trivial issue on the Jammu outskirts, police said on Wednesday.
They said Arvind Jamwal died on the spot after being allegedly shot dead by Lakhan Partap Singh using his father’s 12-bore gun at Gharota late on Tuesday night.
Quoting preliminary investigation, police said that the duo had a verbal argument over some petty issue during a marriage function on Tuesday. When Arvind Singh Jamwal returned to his home, he straightway went to his friend’s house on latter’s call, where he was shot dead by Lakhan Partap Singh.
Police have arrested the accused from Nagrota area and booked him in case FIR number 21/2023 registered under sections 302 IPC and 3/25 Arms Act at Police Station Gharota.
The body of the deceased has also been handed over to his legal heirs after completing the medico-legal formalities.
