Man shot at in Pulwama

SRINAGAR, July 8:
Militants shot at and injured a man in Pulwama district of Kashmir tonight, police said.
The militants fired at Mohammad Rafiq Rather, a resident of Chandhara area of Awantipora in South Kashmir district, a police spokesperson said.
He said Rather received gunshot injury in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police have registered a case and is investigating the circumstances of the incident, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, an Army soldier while on patrol accidentally stepped on mine and sustained injury near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara.
According to official sources, the jawan suffered injuries when he was on patrol duty at Simple Post in Jumgand forest area of Kupwara.
The injured was immediately taken to Military Hospital Drugmulla where his health condition is stated to be stable. (Agencies)
