Man murders wife, mother-in-law in Budhal

RAJOURI, June 6: A villager murdered his young wife and mother-in-law in remote Khawas area of Budhal today.
The deceased have been identified as Priyanka Devi (22), wife of Kashmir Singh, resident of Gadyog village in Khawas and her mother, Shanto Devi, hailing from a nearby village.
Official sources said that on May 12, 2022, Priyanka, mother of a female baby, went missing from her in-laws’ house. The husband lodged missing report with Police Post Khawas under Budhal Police jurisdiction. The police managed to recover the Priyanka and her paramour, Bachan Kumar, son of Kewal Krishan, resident of Gadyog after three days of the incident.
The police converted this missing report into FIR No. 42/2022 under section 376/366 RPC against Bachan Kumar at Police Station Budhal. The girl was putting up at the residence of her parents after this incident of eloping with her paramour. Moreover, husband was not prepared to accept her now.
Today afternoon, Priyanka along with her mother Shanto Devi reached the house of her husband, Kashmir Singh, son of Balwant Singh at Gadyog to settle the issue. The husband and other members in the family refused to keep her at home. They had quarrel over the issue. Kashmir Singh in a fit of anger took an iron rod and attacked his wife and mother -in- law on head. While wife was killed on the spot, the mother- in- law in serious condition was removed to CHC Kotranka where she died after some time.
The police party led by SHO Budhal, Mustaj Ahmed arrested the accused husband Kashmir Singh and registered double murder case against him. The bodies were sent for postmortem.
