Man murdered over land dispute

UDHAMPUR, Oct 26: A farmer was murdered over a land dispute in village Ganshand Panchayat Jig Ganshand, falling under the jurisdiction of Chenani Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Kuldeep Singh (51), son of Tara Chand, resident of village Ganshand, Panchayat Jig Ganshand in Chenani. He succumbed to the fatal injuries inflicted on him by his neighbours, including two brothers and their father, who attacked him with sticks and sharp edged weapon.
The attackers have been identified as Bishan Das, son of Paras Ram, his two sons Kaka Ram and Rakesh Kumar and Shiv Charan, son of Durga Das of village Tanas in Chenani. A land dispute is stated to be cause of murderous attack and consequent death of the victim.
Family members of the deceased said that the accused persons had been threatening the victim for a long time and a complaint in this regard was also lodged at Shuddhmahadev Police Post but no action was taken.
Meanwhile, Police has registered the case FIR number 139/2021, under section 302/34 IPC against the accused at Police Station Chenani.
Accused Bishan Das and his two sons Kaka Ram and Rakesh Kumar have been arrested while Shiv Charan was still at large till filing of this report.
