UDHAMPUR, June 7: A middle aged man was murdered by his son at their house in Ramnagar here today after some altercation between the two.
Acting swiftly, Police apprehended the accused, who had fled the scene after committing the crime. A case FIR under section 302 IPC has been registered in this connection at Police Station Ramnagar and further investigations are going on.
According to Police, Gopi Chand (55), son of Dhuni Chand, resident of village Kaghote in Ramnagar was attacked with hammer by his son Joginder Kumar (24) at their home in the wee hours today around 4:30 am after some altercation between the two.
The accused son fled the scene after murdering his father. On receiving information in this regard, police team rushed to the scene of crime and took the dead body in their custody. After collecting all the evidence from the scene of crime, the dead body was shifted to Hospital Ramnagar for postmortem.
During investigation, the Police team of Police Station Ramnagar, led by SHO Ramnagar under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey, acted swiftly and arrested the accused within hours after series of raids in Ramnagar and adjoining areas.
On disclosure of the accused, the weapon of offence was also recovered. Further investigation in the case is going on.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
