Srinagar, Sept 30: A man in his late forties today attempted to end his life by jumping into the river Jehlum.
Eyewitnesses said that a man jumped into Jehlum from the Cement Kadal Bridge over the river. However, they said, a couple of onlookers jumped into the river and rescued him.
The man, after he was fished out of the river, was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated to stable.
Man has been identified as Farooq Ahmed, a resident of Babapora Barthana Qamarwari area of Srinagar.
